Some cards are just too important to leave to a last-minute store run. Anniversary cards. Sympathy cards. Birthday cards. Thinking of you cards. These are the ones people actually keep. And in this week’s live class, we made all four.
The star of the show is the Delicate Dreams Specialty Designer Series Paper. This one has been sold out for a long time, and it just came back. If you have been waiting to get your hands on it, now is the time. It is 12×12 with the most gorgeous copper foil accents paired with soft blues, Crumb Cake, and Hydrangea Hue. Every piece in the pack coordinates beautifully, which means you can use the A side or the B side and it all works together.
Here is what we made in the class:
Card 1 — Thinking of You
A Crumb Cake card base layered with Secret Sea cardstock, a piece of the Delicate Dreams DSP, and a simple stamped oval from the Phrases and Frames Bundle. We wrapped the Secret Sea Bordered Open Weave Ribbon around the front for a soft, airy bow. Copper metallic gems tucked right into the flowers on the DSP pull the whole thing together.
Card 2 — Birthday
This one features a fun fold with Hydrangea Hue, and the Delicate Dreams paper showcases on both the inside and the outside. The sentiment “to a marvelous person on their birthday” comes from the Sending Salutations Stamp Set, which is a fantastic all occasion set at around $20. It has sentiments for birthdays, sympathy, friendship, and more.
Card 3 — Anniversary
We added some ink speckles to the background for a little extra something, then used the “Happy Anniversary” label from the Phrases and Frames Bundle on the front. The inside is stamped too, which is one of my favorite things about this stamp set. It reads: “Anniversaries are celebrating the joys of today, the memories of yesterday, and the hopes of tomorrow.” So beautiful.
Card 4 — Sympathy
This one features a fussy cut flower from the Delicate Dreams DSP, linen thread wrapped diagonally, and “Sending prayers and heartfelt sympathy to you and your family” from the Phrases and Frames Bundle on the front. One copper metallic gem in the center of the flower finishes it off. Simple, thoughtful, and truly lovely.
