Painted Pumpkins Card Ideas: Pumpkin Patch Gate, Thank You and Hello Cards

October 28, 2026 By Michelle

If you want a few pretty handmade cards to send this fall, these four pumpkin cards are sweet and simple to make. They all use the Painted Pumpkins Bundle and its designer paper, and they are the four cards in my Painted Pumpkins Mini Stamp Camp.

Watch the full replay above to follow along step by step, or keep reading for a look at each card.

How to Make a Hello Gourd-geous Card With the Painted Pumpkins Designer Paper

This first card pairs a Secret Sea card base with Calypso Coral and Basic White, and I just love how the teal and coral look together. The ribbon is Calypso Coral with a little metallic copper edge, and I wrapped it all the way around the layer and tied a full bow. In the class, you get a whole bolt of this ribbon.

The pumpkin and gourd are cut from the designer paper, so they are already colored and shaded for you. I popped the pumpkin up on dimensionals and stamped the sentiment in Secret Sea ink. Inside, it says “I hope your day is fabulous,” with one more little gourd.

To finish, I added a couple of the Painted Patch adhesive backed dots in Calypso Coral. They coordinate with all the colors in this suite, so you never have to guess.

How to Make a Hey Pumpkin Card (and How I Fixed an Ink Smudge)

Card number two uses Pool Party with a scalloped oval and an inside oval from the Framed Violets dies. That oval die is one of my favorites. I stamped “hey” in Secret Sea and let the pumpkins finish the thought, so it reads “hey pumpkin.” I put a dimensional on one side of the pumpkin and a little glue on the other so it pops up just a bit.

Here’s what happened on my second card. It dropped in the Secret Sea ink pad and smudged the corner. A sanding eraser won’t take off a dark color like that, so I cut out a few more pumpkins and gourds from the designer paper and built a little pumpkin cluster right over the smudge. I actually like it even better. There is always a way to fix a mishap!

I finished it with Pool Party dots and the same sentiment inside, “I hope your day is fabulous.”

How to Make a Pink Pumpkin Thank You Card With Heat Embossing

This one has pink in it, and pink is my favorite color. The pack of paper has some non-traditional fall colors, and this card is pretty for breast cancer awareness too. I used Flirty Flamingo, Pool Party, Basic White, the striped designer paper, and a vellum circle.

I stamped “thank you” on a strip of Flirty Flamingo with VersaMark and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. Then I fussy cut a few pumpkins from the paper, popped one up, and tied a little knot of blush ribbon onto it with a glue dot.

Five Pool Party dots finish it off. It is soft and pretty, and you could use any sentiment you like.

How to Make a Pumpkin Patch Gate Card With a Wood Grain Look

This last card was a favorite on the live, and the gate is my favorite too. It uses Golden Glow, Basic White, and the designer paper. The gate is die cut from Crumb Cake, and the little gate pieces are Early Espresso.

Here’s my tip: I used a blending brush with Crumb Cake ink on the gate, and it brings out the wood grain so it comes to life. You can skip that step, but I love how it looks. I glued the gate pieces on so it stays closed. You could leave them off and let the gate open.

On the front, I stamped “hello gourd-geous” in Early Espresso on a scrap, cut out just the “hello,” and stuck it right on a pumpkin. I didn’t want a big sentiment taking away from the pumpkins. Inside, I stamped the leaves and colored them with the dark Golden Glow Stampin’ Blend. Cajun Craze and Golden Glow dots finish it off.

Hi, I’m Michelle!

I’m an Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator based in Davison, Michigan, and the founder of Owl Star Stampers. I’ve been teaching sweet and simple card making since 2009, and I believe the best part of crafting isn’t the finished card. It’s the people you make it with.

In 2024 I hit a million dollars in career sales with Stampin’ Up!, a milestone reached by fewer than 1% of demonstrators worldwide. (Results like that aren’t typical, and I know how fortunate I am.) My team, the Owl Star Stampers, now includes 100+ demonstrators across the country, all united by a love of creativity and community.

Whether you’re a beginner looking to make your first handmade card or an experienced crafter looking for a consistent creative community, I’d love to have you here.
