If you want a little stack of handmade cards ready for fall and the start of the Christmas season, this month’s virtual card class is for you. We made two fall cards and two Christmas cards, and you can get the free tutorial for all four.
Watch the full replay above to follow along step by step, or keep reading for a look at everything we made.
Radiant Sunflowers Thinking of You Card with White Heat Embossing
Thinking of you is a card I send all the time, so that is the sentiment I picked for this one. The card base is Crumb Cake, and I embossed a piece of Misty Moonlight with a plaid folder for the background. Then I die cut a little piece of designer series paper with the notebook paper die from the Extraordinary Life Dies and tucked it in at an angle.
The sunflower, center, and leaf are die cut from the Radiant Sunflowers bundle in Daffodil Delight, Early Espresso, and Old Olive. I’ll be honest, I told myself I was not getting another sunflower set, but here we are, and I really love it. We used this same bundle in last month’s Owlet Card Club.
I stamped the sentiment in VersaMark and heat embossed it with white embossing powder so it is shiny and glossy. If you don’t like heat embossing, just stamp it in Early Espresso or Basic Black. Pop the sunflower up on Dimensionals and finish with a few dots. I made one with the Pumpkin Patch adhesive dots and one with the green Glossy Dew Drops so you can see the difference.
Fun for Fall Scarecrow Card with Stampin’ Blends
You loved the Fun for Fall bundle so much, and I love it too. It’s $44, and the dies have little corn stalks, a picket fence, a banner, a bale of hay, and so many cute things. For this card I used Golden Glow and Pecan Pie with the Gingham Gallery designer series paper from the 2026 to 2028 In Colors, layered on a stitched banner from the Nested Essentials Dies.
I stamped the scarecrow, the hay bale, and one of the crows in Memento Black, then colored them with Stampin’ Blends. Golden Glow and Crumb Cake for the hay, Smoky Slate and Basic Black for the crow, Mossy Meadow and Golden Glow for the overalls, and Cajun Craze for the shirt. Don’t forget his face! A scarecrow with a white face is actually kind of scary, so I used Ivory and gave him a little blush on his cheeks.
There is a fair amount of coloring on this one, so you need to not mind coloring. If you don’t have the scarecrow, you can use a sunflower or another little animal instead. I finished it with the So thankful for you sentiment, a linen thread bow held on with a mini glue dot, and a few Cajun Craze dots to tie in with his shirt.
Christmas Mice Card with the Softly Woven 3D Embossing Folder
I’m not a fan of real mice. I have a whole story about a family of mice in our shed, and I still have not stepped foot in that shed. But these little cartoony mice are so cute! The Christmas Mice bundle has Santa hats, scarves, bows, a little box of ornaments, a window, and a stack of presents. It was the featured bundle at our fall retreat.
The card base is Real Red, with a layer of Bubble Bath embossed with the Softly Woven 3D embossing folder. I love how that folder embosses. I cut two strips of the Creative Celebrations 6 x 6 designer series paper into little banners, and the Real Red ribbon is on the last chance list but I have enough for your kit if you order.
I stamped the mouse on a circle so he peeks over the edge, holding a candy cane and wearing a Santa hat. I colored him with Crumb Cake, and his ears with light Bubble Bath. When the pink came out a little too bright, I went over it lightly with the color lifter to blend and soften it, and I really like how it looks now. A white heat embossed Merry Christmas, some red sequins, and a touch of Wink of Stella on the Santa hat finish it off. This one was a lot of your favorites!
Holly Jolly Branches Christmas Tree Card with the Scalloped Christmas Cheer Dies
Our last card has no coloring at all. The Holly Jolly Branches bundle is about $40, and it is the featured bundle in this month’s Owlet Card Club. You get a tree, a little tree trunk, stars, ornaments, a cool label, and some really great sentiments.
The card base is Night of Navy, layered with the Whispering Woods designer series paper. Every time you buy that paper, Stampin’ Up! donates money to charity, which I love. I framed the sentiment with the Scalloped Christmas Cheer Dies. I love labels, but I especially love scallops and stitching, and these are phenomenal.
I stamped Merry, merry everything on the outside in Night of Navy, and Wishing you a festive season on the inside with a partial tree peeking up from the bottom. The tree is stamped in Shaded Spruce with a Pecan Pie trunk, die cut, popped up on Dimensionals, and finished with a little Wink of Stella and three blue Glossy Dew Drops. I’ve made nine cards now with these same supplies because I love them so much.
