How to Make 5 Layered Winnie the Pooh Cards With Silly Old Bear Designer Series Paper

If you have been eyeing the Silly Old Bear Designer Series Paper and were not sure what to make with it, this week’s live is for you. I made five layered Winnie the Pooh cards that lean on the paper itself, so there is no coloring at all.

What You Need to Make These Five Cards

The whole class is built around four products. The Silly Old Bear 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper is the star. The Sweet Words & Labels Bundle gives you the label shapes and the sentiments. The Hundred Acre Woods 3D Embossing Folder adds texture, and Linen Thread ties every card together with a simple bow. I also pulled a few In Color butterflies from my stash.

Card 1: A Layered Silly Old Bear Card With the Hundred Acre Woods Embossing Folder

The first card starts with a Golden Glow base and an Early Espresso layer, with a touch of Mossy Meadow. I ran a piece of Very Vanilla through the Hundred Acre Woods 3D Embossing Folder so the scene does all the work, no ink or coloring needed.

Here is a little paper hack. I cut the label shape out of the center of one layer before gluing it down, since that spot gets covered anyway. Then I layered a stitched label from the Sweet Words & Labels Bundle on top, stamped “old friends are the best friends,” and tucked a big Linen Thread bow behind it before popping it up on Dimensionals. There are a lot of layers on this one, and that is what makes it pop.

Card 2: Using a Blending Brush Over 3D Embossing

Card two keeps the same Golden Glow and Early Espresso colors but turns the layout so the panel runs the other direction. This time on the embossed piece I brushed a little Crumb Cake over the raised texture with a blending brush. That one step brings the embossed scene to life and makes it so much easier to see.

I wrapped Linen Thread around the center, die cut the image of Pooh floating up with his balloon and the little bees, and popped it up on Dimensionals over a Golden Glow mat. The sentiment on this one is “it never hurts to keep looking up,” stamped in Early Espresso. A mini Dimensional on each side of the label finishes it off.

Card 3: A Soft Barely Blush Pooh and Eeyore Card With In Color Butterflies

This one is all soft pinks. I started with a Barely Blush card base, added Basic White, then the Barely Blush gingham print from the paper pack and one more Barely Blush layer. The label is layered with white for a little dimension.

I die cut Pooh and Eeyore straight from the paper using the dies from the other Silly Old Bear bundle, but you can fussy cut them by hand since the paper comes in your kit. Eeyore even has a sweet little blush bow printed right on him. I stamped “the best kind of days are spent together” in Early Espresso, added a few pink In Color butterflies, and then gently took the card apart so I could wrap Linen Thread around and tie a bow off to one side. The In Color butterflies are back in stock and come in every In Color plus white, so they are an easy add on.

Card 4: A Mossy Meadow Card With Offset Paper Panels

Card four uses a Mossy Meadow base scored in half, with Early Espresso layers. I cut two strips of the paper about two inches wide in different lengths and offset them so they are not perfectly lined up, which keeps the card from looking too plain.

I popped the label up on Dimensionals and stamped a small strip of Very Vanilla with “I will love you until forever and even after that.” A few white butterflies across the front, and it is done.

Card 5: A Quick Scene Card Using the Silly Old Bear Paper

The last card is the fastest one. I wanted to show off one of the printed scenes, so I trimmed a little off each side of the panel with Pooh and all his friends gathered around the table. It sits on Crumb Cake and Hydrangea Hue.

I added a sentiment from one of the labels, the friend one, with mini Dimensionals, a bit of Linen Thread near the tree, and a couple of butterflies. This scene would also make an adorable Thanksgiving card. It reminded me of the old Snoopy Thanksgiving with the popcorn and the toast.

You need this one for the label shapes and the sentiments. I used the dies to cut my labels and stamped little sayings like “old friends are the best friends” from the coordinating stamp set.

This folder presses a whole Hundred Acre Wood scene into your cardstock. It went out of stock for a while and it is back now, so grab it if you have been waiting. Try brushing a little Crumb Cake over the raised texture to make it really show up.
