Yesterday, here in Michigan, everything was a sheet of ice and we had no school. I went down to my studio and took out the Dragonfly Dreams Stamp Set and the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits and started designing this easy but beautiful card.
To make this card I use Bermuda Bay, Old Olive and Daffodil Delight Inks. I used the Shimmer White Cardstock to stamp on, and Silver Foil Sheets to cut out the Dragonfly. You also need a spritzer with water, Aqua Painter, Silver Sparkle Dazzling Details. I spritzed the paper first with the water and then I stamped the background image with Bermuda Bay a few times. I cleaned the stamp and then went to Old Olive and repeated and then did just a touch of Daffodil Delight. If the paper gets to wet use a paper towel to dab dry. Once it is fully dry, you can use your Heat Tool, then stamp the sentiment.
To do the silver sparkles you see, I took some Silver Sparkle Dazzling Details and squirted some on a big acrylic block. I took my Aqua Painter and watered it down and then tapped the Aqua Painter over the card with a pencil to get the splatters randomly on there.
This was such a fun card and I love the colors. After I got done I thought that would make a BEAUTIFUL picture to hang on the wall. Then, I remembered a canvas I had bought to make something with. So, I found that canvas and pretty much repeated the steps to create this.
For the canvas I use the Brights Candy Dots, Basic Rhinestones and the Silver Thread in addition to everything I did on the card.
Here is an up close of the canvas. What do you think? I really love how this turned out. I can see a future class making this.
