If you want to get a jump start on your Christmas cards this year, this week’s live is for you. I made 4 handmade Christmas cards using the Stitched Stocking Bundle, and I’m sharing every step so you can make them too.
Watch the full replay above to follow along step by step, or keep reading for a look at everything we made.
Quilted Christmas Card with the Stitched Stocking Bundle
Our first card starts with a Real Red base and a piece of Basic White embossed with a plaid embossing folder for that quilted look, then a layer of the Stitched Season Designer Series Paper. I stamped “May all your days be merry and bright” on the label die from the Stitched Stocking Bundle in Real Red ink, added a bow made from linen thread, and finished it off with a red adhesive backed mini Christmas button.
The one thing not included in your kit is twine or linen thread, so grab some before you sit down to craft.
A Cozy Textured Background Using a Plastic Bag and Ink
This card has one of my favorite techniques from the whole class. I took a plain piece of Crumb Cake cardstock and, instead of leaving it plain, scrunched up a plastic grocery bag into a ball, dabbed it in a Crumb Cake ink pad, and pressed it onto the cardstock for a soft, cozy texture. You can do this with saran wrap, cling wrap, or even bubble wrap, and with any ink color you like.
I also die cut a strip using the stocking die from the Stitched Stocking Bundle, running it through my machine twice with a little washi tape to hold it steady so the stitched pattern repeats all the way down. Layer that over a Cherry Cobbler base, add a Pecan Pie square, and finish with the “Merry and Bright” sentiment heat embossed in white and a mini Christmas button.
Full Stocking Card with the Stitched Stocking Dies
This one uses the stocking die from the bundle to cut a full stocking shape. One tip if you’re following along: cut your stocking shape out of your base cardstock before you glue your designer paper layer on top, since the paper layer covers the stocking completely once it’s in place.
The dies also includes a stitched stocking piece with beautiful texture built right into the die cut, so there’s very little extra work to make it look detailed. I stamped “Sending warm wishes this Christmas” on a scrap piece, trimmed it to sit beside the stocking, and finished with a white adhesive backed mini Christmas button.
Let the Paper Be the Star: A Simple Ribbon Christmas Card
Our last card is the quickest one, and I love it because the Stitched Season Designer Series Paper really gets to be the star of the show. I used a Peaceful Pine base, layered on a designer paper panel with a tree pattern, and added a piece of the Real Red and White stitched ribbon zig zagged across the front. This ribbon is thin and delicate with stitching detail, so it adds a lot without adding bulk.
Finish with the “Merry Christmas to you and yours” sentiment, and if you want to dress up the inside, you can cut a small tree motif from extra designer paper and tuck it inside.

All four cards use the same Stitched Stocking Bundle, so it’s an easy one to add to your cart.
Stitched Stocking Bundle (Item #168231)
This bundle is the star of the whole class tonight. I used it on all four cards, from the label die to the full stocking shape, and the sentiments are some of my favorites in the catalog.
Adhesive Backed Mini Christmas Buttons (Item #168234)
These little buttons already have adhesive on the back, so there’s no extra glue needed. I love the sparkle around the edge, and one red or white button is the perfect finishing touch.
Real Red 1/4 inch Stitched Ribbon (Item #168235)
This ribbon is so light and delicate with the prettiest stitching detail. It’s thin enough that it never feels bulky, but it adds so much to a simple card.
