Six Days of Dollar Store Crafts for Christmas Gifts and Craft Shows
Day 1: Hot Cocoa Gift Mug and Peppermint Candy Jar
Hot Cocoa Gift Mug
A ceramic or disposable coffee cup filled with hot cocoa packets, mini marshmallows, Hershey’s Kisses, and a candy cane. I decorated the gift with a custom handmade tag featuring festive stamped images using the More Than Autumn Bundle, including a cup, candy cane, and gingerbread man.
Peppermint Candy Jar
A glass jar filled with soft peppermint candies, presented in a cellophane bag and topped with a handmade tag. The tag was created using coordinating cardstock, stamped designs featuring the Sweetest Star Stamp Set, and a touch of glittery paper for added holiday charm.
Day 2: Candy Bar Wrapper and Coal Candy Bag
Candy Bar Wrapper
A decorative wrapper for a candy bar using designer series paper, a stamped sentiment such as “Hope your holidays are sweet” from Dear Santa Stamp Set, and a cut-out penguin embellishment. I added sparkle with the Festive Glimmer paper banner and adhesive peppermint embellishments.
Coal Candy Bag
A whimsical treat bag filled with “coal” candies (crispy chocolate candies) packaged in a clear bag. The topper was made with cardstock and designer paper, featuring a humorous printed sentiment:
“I made my list and checked it twice: Coal for the naughty, candy for the nice. Good luck next year! – Santa.”
A snowflake embellishment with a peppermint center added extra charm.
Day 3: We “Whisk” You a Merry Christmas and “Santa-tizer” Hand Sanitizer
“We Whisk You a Merry Christmas” Gift
A whisk filled with Hershey Kisses and packaged in a clear cellophane bag. I added a handmade tag with the printed sentiment “We whisk you a Merry Kissmas,” tied with ribbon and twine. The tag was decorated with adhesive embellishments like berries or peppermints for an extra festive touch.
“Santa-tizer” Hand Sanitizer
A small bottle of hand sanitizer decorated to look like Santa with a red cardstock wrap, a black cardstock belt, and a silver buckle made from foil paper. A printed tag reading “Santa-tizer” was added with twine and tied at the top. The measurements can be adjusted for different-sized bottles, making this a fun holiday gift that’s both practical and adorable.
Day 4: Gift Pouches for Girls and Guys
Pocket Gift Pouch for Women
An elegant expandable pocket using Pretty Peacock and Pool Party cardstock, decorated with Winter Meadow Designer Series Paper and Silver Foil Accents. This pouch is ideal for holding self-care items like face masks, nail files, and lip gloss, making it a perfect gift for women, teen girls, or teachers.
Air Freshener Pouch for Men
Using Real Red two-tone cardstock, I designed a simple and practical pouch to hold an air freshener. Decorated with festive Reindeer Days Designer Series Paper and tied with Pool Party Crinkle Ribbon, this project offers a thoughtful gift idea for teenage boys, men, or anyone in need of a fresh scent for their car or space.
Day 5: Note Holders and Bath Bomb Gift Bags
Post-It Note Holders
I created simple yet festive Post-It note holders using Reindeer Days Designer Series Paper, card stock, and a stamped decorative element from the Sweetest Star Stamp Set. These holders are designed for 2.5″ x 3″ Post-It notes (which I found at Dollar Tree), and I packaged them in clear envelopes for a polished presentation.
Bath Bomb Gift Bags
I made charming gift bags out of designer paper to hold bath bombs or other small items. I demonstrated both a sophisticated gold and green version and a more whimsical snow-themed version, finishing them off with coordinating ribbon and tags for a personalized touch. These versatile bags can also fit socks, candy, or small beauty items.
Day 6: Oven Mitt Gift and Treat Holders
Oven Mitt Gift Set
I created a festive oven mitt gift set by combining a cute oven mitt, a cookie mix, and two spatulas (one full-sized and one mini), then finished it off with an adorable handmade tag featuring a stamped gingerbread man and fun phrase which come from the Sweetest Star Bundle. This makes a perfect holiday gift for bakers or anyone who loves the kitchen.
Sour Cream Container Treats
Using a 6″x6″ piece of designer series paper, I crafted sour cream container-style treat holders that can be filled with small gifts like candies, lotions, or chapsticks. I personalized each container with a coordinating tag and festive ribbon.
